I may still see if they offer a trade-in program where I can trade my top specced 2017 i7 Macbook Pro 15 touchbar that I bought new. I know that Macbook Pro M1 would be better, especially thermal wise, but, it will be out of budget. On the other hand, I was also thinking about Macbook Air M1. I guess that on Windows, my best bet would be Asus Rog Zephyrus G14, with something like GTC 1650 or if possible, even better RTX 3060 as I will be buying it used and with RTX I can benefit from optix, so I can decrease the sample size hugely for on the go, Cycles, material creation with the nodes/experiments. Even if it is just a render of the selected region, I may still need it. I am not going to be doing hardcore rendering as I have an other computer at home for that, but some rendering could be useful when I will try to experiment and learn more the nodes in Blender. Many windows laptop will run much slower on battery and if i change it in power management, then the battery will drain faster. And also second downside will be the performance. And in the cafes I will rely on my battery power. But what I realize is that if i get a Windows laptop, running blender on it, even just modelling will have a very little battery life. Something with around 14 inch and if it is not bulky, could even be 15 inch. And I wanted also as long as possible battery life. In the beginning I wanted something around 1 kg, but I guess that it is not very realistic to run Blender. So I would like to have a computer that will let me model on Blender in my break times and if i could, experiment and learn linux. I want a laptop that will let me model on the go as I work 6 days a week and around 12 hours a day I am at work with 2 hours of break time. But, even tho I want to use and learn linux at the same time, I feel like Windows laptops won't gonna do it, battery wise. I have already created a post on advices about a portable computer for using blender on the go.
